Install Proxmox Ops for Cursor

Cursor reads ~/.cursor/mcp.json. A project can also commit .cursor/mcp.json.

Needs Cursor or VS Code installed on this device. The button opens the app and asks you to confirm before it adds the server.

  1. Open ~/.cursor/mcp.json on macOS, %USERPROFILE%\.cursor\mcp.json on Windows, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json on Linux.

  2. Paste the JSON config below.

  3. Replace placeholder secrets, then restart the client if it does not reload on its own.

~/.cursor/mcp.json
{  "mcpServers": {    "derdennis1012-proxmox-ops-mcp": {      "command": "uvx",      "args": [        "proxmox-ops-mcp"      ],      "env": {        "PROXMOX_HOST": "",        "PROXMOX_TOKEN_ID": "",        "PROXMOX_TOKEN_SECRET": "YOUR_PROXMOX_TOKEN_SECRET",        "PROXMOX_ACCESS_TIER": "read_only",        "PROXMOX_TLS_FINGERPRINT": "",        "PROXMOX_CA_BUNDLE": ""      }    }  }}
